D9640 Rotary Club of Boonah

The Rotary Club of Boonah is hosting the D3450 GSE team from Mar 19 to Mar 22, 2013.

The Rotary Club of Boonah has thirty eight members and is located in the picturesque area of the Scenic Rim region of South East Queensland.  It is one of the oldest Clubs in our District 9640, having been chartered in 1946.  The current President is John Stone, whose background is Supermarket Retailing, and there are more than twenty five different professions and areas

of expertise represented among the other Club members. The Club contributes to Rotary projects and other worthy causes at an international and national level as well as creating its own projects in the local area.

 

The Club has a major commitment to the youth of the local area by means of sponsorship for youth to participate in the many programmes that are available for them through Rotary as well as investment in literacy and numeracy programmes and direct involvement and support with the Interact Club at Boonah High School.

Signature Project

This Club has for many years provided, created or added to infrastructure for the local residents in public areas. This has taken the form of parks, shelters, walks, playgrounds and the restoration of heritage memorials. This commitment is set to continue, with a new public infrastructure project planned for the next Rotary year.
