There are two Rotary Clubs in Ballina. The Rotary Club of Ballina, having been chartered in 1949, is the older.
We currently have 33 members and meet on a Monday evening at the Ballina RSL Club.
Whilst we have been active participants in International projects in the past, particularly in Papua New Guinea, our more recent years have seen us more involved in local and youth schemes, whilst not forgetting the financial support of the Rotary Foundation.
We take the opportunity to engage interesting (and sometimes humorous) guest speakers and seldom miss the opportunity to try to convert some of them to becoming members.
Our membership is diverse in both vocational and demographic terms but we all share the common goals of Rotary. Our oldest member is 96 and our youngest is 49 so whilst our average age is on the mature side, it does not stop us from having fun!
